Last year ('04) you were excited about writing new song material, have any been recorded yet?
Yeah, 'Strict Discipline', 'Play My Drum', 'Second Skin'
You just finished producing your first pop video, how did that come along?
Initially I wanted to produce a short movie. Since I didn't get the financial ok. I decided to stay within my given budget for a pop promo (video) to my single "Dangerous Cat". I hooked up with director Julia Hofer.
What is 'Dangerous Cat' about?
I wrote it about someone very close to me. A 'dangerous cat' is someone loving the danger, the edge. Secondly I refer in 'Dangerous Cat' to nightlife. Souls who don't know how they end up the next morning...
How was your experience filming it, acting in it after you entered such high profile work as Madonna and Walter Stern?
The budget is much of a difference. We had a tight time & budget limit. I pretty much focused on production & art direction rather than my acting. While filming it director Julia Hofer talked me into portraying a character of her own vision. I do love the feel of my video. It is a timeless classic piece playing in a burlesque 1940's Berlin bar. Obviously, the cast had to go through my office.
What's in your CD player at the moment?
Adam Green, a very cool lyricist. Scissor Sisters, I love their non-album tracks, and they are brilliant musicians. The Kills, The Kills had a great video to 'The Good Ones'. I love the Velvet Underground/ Andy Warhol vibe about it.
Are you still going out to clubs, do you like to party?
I prefer private parties and small functions. At present clubs are just madness for me. My picture gets taken in all kinds of weird situations. I got a 'lovely' collection out of uncanny paparazzi photos. Plus, I find it stressful in dealing with all sorts of deranged bitchy characters in club land.
Talking about pictures, you have been photographed by Corinne Day for Vogue Italia, how is Corinne? She discovered Kate Moss way back?
Yes, Corinne Day is great to work with. I mean she is a cool lady. It was a great honor for me being part of her vision.
